Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and personnel by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, packages, and/or property entering or leaving the location in accordance with procedures.
• Operate screening equipment and conduct inspections of items and areas; report prohibited items, irregularities, and security concerns.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and escalate to site contacts or emergency services.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, access points, and perimeter locations.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Entry Screening in Oakland, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.95 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeWed02:45 PM - 11:15 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and personnel by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, packages, and/or property entering or leaving the logistics and distribution location in accordance with established procedures.
• Operate screening equipment and conduct inspections of items and areas as assigned, reporting prohibited items, irregularities, and security‑related concerns.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, facility access points, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
