Job summary

Allied Universal® in Gibsonton, FL is seeking a Security Officer – Enhanced Part Time Armed Vehicle Patrol Driver to provide dependable security coverage at a designated site. This role offers flexible hours with fixed anchor shifts and opportunities to pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform.

Pay rate is $20.20 per hour. Requirements include armed guard card or license, driver’s license, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or vendors while carrying out site‑specific procedures, access‑control requirements, and emergency response activities at a utility location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, grounds, parking areas, perimeter areas, and critical infrastructure to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, control entry and exit, and document visitor, contractor, and vehicle activity in accordance with site policies.
• Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrols, incidents, access activity, and security‑related concerns, and maintain required armed‑post equipment and qualifications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
