Qualifications

• 3+ years’ combined law enforcement, military, or security experience, or a college degree.
• Graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
• 1+ year armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• 1+ year law enforcement experience, 2+ years security supervisor/3+ years security experience.
• Corrections Officer License.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen as required by law.
• Criminal histories considered per laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors and families while following security procedures.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry per campus policies.
• Respond to incidents calmly and solve problems in critical situations.
• Conduct armed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas and perimeters.
• Maintain documentation and report observations to appropriate personnel.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Operations in LOS ANGELES, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.25 / Hour

Job Schedule: DayTimeThur07:00 AM - 05:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or families by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, and report unusual activity in accordance with campus policies.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, including situations involving students, visitors, and/or campus operations.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout campus buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Maintain required documentation, communicate observations to appropriate personnel, and follow applicable procedures for armed post assignments.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 3+ years’ combined law enforcement, military, or security‑related experience, or a college degree.
• Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
• Possess 1+ years’ armed security‑related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Possess 1+ years’ law enforcement experience, 2+ years’ security‑related supervisor or manager experience, or 3+ years’ security‑related experience.
• Possess a Corrections Officer License.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
