Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Los Angeles, CA to provide reliable, flexible security coverage at an assigned site. This role offers part-time hours with opportunities to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

Responsibilities include access-control, emergency response, and reporting incidents. The position requires a guard card or license preferred, high school diploma, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and clients by carrying out site‑specific procedures, access‑control practices, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, follow established sign‑in procedures, and report suspicious, disruptive, or unauthorized activity to the appropriate site contact and/or emergency services.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, using de‑escalation techniques and following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the location, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify security‑related concerns and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Document daily activities, patrol observations, incidents, and policy violations in clear, accurate reports and communicate relevant information during shift handoffs.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
