Qualifications

• Police or corrections training certificates are preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background investigation and drug screen are conditions of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public at a government location while following site procedures and access-control rules.
• Conduct armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeters to identify unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner per post orders.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, and maintain awareness of personnel, vehicles, and activities entering/leaving the site.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate observations and security concerns to appropriate personnel.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Deescalation in Miami, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.26 / Hour

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and applicable procedures.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, and maintain awareness of personnel, vehicles, and activities entering or leaving the location.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and security-related concerns to appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a DD214 with an honorable discharge, an associate degree or 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
• Baton certification is preferred.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• Guard card or license is preferred.
• Armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
