Job summary

Allied Universal in Chicago is seeking a part-time security professional to protect tenants and assets. The role features fixed anchors on a designated site with a six-month commitment, plus the option to pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings.

Responsibilities include customer service to tenants and visitors, patrolling the property, monitoring access, responding to incidents, and reporting observations to site leadership.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Alarm panel experience and access control/badge experience are preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and building personnel while carrying out site-specific procedures and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the commercial property, including common areas, entrances, parking facilities, and perimeter locations, to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site policies, and report unauthorized access concerns or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation protocols.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports and communicate relevant observations to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Pay Rate: $19.50 / Hour

Job Schedule: Fri 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
