Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Enhanced Security Officer in Center City, Philadelphia, PA, to provide dependable security and customer service for staff and visitors. You will work fixed anchor shifts and may pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings.

Pay rate is $19.06 per hour with a six-month anchor shift commitment and opportunities to scale up to a 40-hour schedule.

Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and other community members while carrying out site‑specific procedures and security‑related policies.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of healthcare buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, walkways, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and support visitor management procedures in accordance with campus protocols.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, contacting appropriate campus personnel and emergency responders as needed.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports of incidents, observations, and security‑related activities, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and authorized personnel.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.
