Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out site-specific access control procedures and emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, maintain visitor records, and control entry and exit per location procedures.
• Respond to incidents calmly and notify appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular patrols of retail areas, stockrooms, exterior access points and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Document access control activities, incidents, and observations in required reports and communicate with site leadership.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Systems in Dayville, CT, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.86 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 12:00 AM - 06:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out site‑specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, maintain visitor records, and control entry and exit in accordance with location procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of retail sales areas, stockrooms, exterior access points, and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Document access control activities, incidents, and observations in required reports and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security‑related experience is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
