Job summary

Allied Universal Hartford, CT seeks a part-time Security Officer Enhanced to provide reliable security coverage at a financial services site. You’ll have fixed anchor shifts with the option to pick up extra shifts via our scheduling platform to raise earnings.

Responsibilities include customer service for employees, visitors, and vendors; responding to incidents and alarms; conducting patrols; monitoring access points and documenting actions with clear reports.

Qualifications

• Possess at least 1 year of law enforcement experience or relevant security experience.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• A background check and drug screen as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors at a financial services location by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner; document observations and actions.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and business perimeter to deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and communicate concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain professional communication with Allied Universal leadership, client representatives, and local emergency responders as needed.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol in Hartford, CT, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.85 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sun 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors at a financial services location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access‑control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; document observations and actions according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and communicate concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain professional communication with Allied Universal leadership, client representatives, and local emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security‑related supervisor/manager experience, or 3 years of security‑related experience.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
