Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control in Hartford, CT. This role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts when it suits you.

Pay rate is $20.00/hour. The role features fixed anchor shifts and a commitment of six months, plus the option to claim extra shifts across multiple sites through our scheduling platform to grow toward a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of law enforcement or 3 years security experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• Access control or badge experience preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a financial institution per site policies and emergency procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and access-control concerns calmly and following procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of offices, common areas, parking facilities, and building perimeter.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, maintaining accurate activity logs.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel and responders and report hazards or issues.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control in Hartford, CT, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors at a financial institution by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of offices, common areas, parking facilities, and the building perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and maintain accurate activity and incident documentation.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel, visitors, and emergency responders, and report observed hazards, maintenance concerns, and/or unusual activity to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have access control or badge experience, preferred.
• Possess a guard card or license, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
