Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Patrol Area Security in Brooklyn, NY to safeguard clients in a shelter setting. You will monitor areas, patrol, and provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a visible presence to deter incidents.

As a Full Time role, the pay rate is $17.00 per hour. The position requires candidates to be 18+ with a high school diploma, and to undergo background checks and drug screening. A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents and resident concerns in a calm, professional manner following reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of interiors and exteriors to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor entrances and verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures.
• Document incidents and daily activities, communicating information to site leadership or emergency responders.

As a Security Officer Patrol Area Security in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a shelter setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or service providers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and maintain awareness of resident and visitor activity.
• Document incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or emergency responders when needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
