Allentown School District is seeking a Security Officer to safeguard students and staff on district premises. This 11-month, 225-day position supports the educational process by protecting property and individuals from harm.

The role requires prior security or law enforcement experience or an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice, and completion of required training with satisfactory performance. A comprehensive benefits package is offered to qualified employees.

Responsabilidades

• Patrols assigned buildings, grounds and halls to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and unauthorized entry.
• Conducts patrol inspections of doors, windows and gates to ensure security.
• Confronts unauthorized persons for identification or assistance per emergency action plan.
• Responds to all requests for security-related matters as directed by the building administrator.
• Patrols school grounds and adjacent areas to detect unauthorized persons or vehicles.
• Drafts and submits written reports of security incidents and violations.
• Responds immediately to emergency situations.
• Performs other duties as assigned under contract.

Summary

The Security Officer assists in the educational process by protecting students and staff members from harm while on school premises, and protecting school-owned property from loss or damage caused by anti-social acts. This is an 11-month position, with responsibilities spanning the regular school and summer school sessions up to a maximum of 225 days.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Incumbents must be able to perform the following minimum duties in a satisfactory manner, with or without reasonable accommodations:

• Patrols assigned building, grounds and halls to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry.
• Conducts patrol inspections of doors, windows and gates to determine that they are secure.
• Confronts unauthorized persons for identification, routing and/or assistance or calls police for assistance according to emergency action plan.
• Responds as directed by the building administrator in matters of security.
• Patrols school grounds and adjacent areas as assigned to detect unauthorized persons or vehicles.
• Draft and submit written reports of security incidents and violations.
• Responds immediately to all requests for assistance in emergency situations.
• Performs other duties as assigned under contract.
