Job Description

As a Security Officer Educational Facility Access Controlin Patchogue, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a higher education location, you will help maintain a welcoming, secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing visitor access, and responding to security-related concerns. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting campus operations through teamwork, integrity, and a caring, people-first culture at Allied Universal.

Pay Rate: $18.90 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and contractors while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor authorization, and permitted entry in accordance with campus policies.
• Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and access-related logs and communicate relevant information to appropriate campus representatives and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, common areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
