Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer - Driver Patrol for overnight shifts in North Chicago, IL. This role requires patrolling healthcare and other facilities, maintaining a strong, visible security presence, and delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Monitor access points and verify visitor authorization per site procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, medical emergencies, and critical situations following procedures.
• Report hazards and security concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, patients, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity and report observations.
• Monitor access to designated areas, verify visitor authorization as directed by site procedures, and maintain accurate visitor and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Assist with maintaining an orderly healthcare environment by reporting hazards, access-control concerns, and security-related issues to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
