Job summary

EvergreenHealth in Monroe (primary location) is seeking a Security Officer to perform a variety of safety, security, and emergency management duties. The role includes patrolling buildings and grounds, monitoring parking, responding to incidents, and assisting patients, visitors, and staff.

New hires may receive a bonus up to $1,000 pro-rated by FTE. The position covers multiple EvergreenHealth locations (Kirkland, Monroe, Redmond) with Monroe as the primary site.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 1-year security or related training/experience.
• Current Washington State Driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provides security for patients, visitors, staff and employees; enforces rules and protects hospital property.
• Performs security, safety, and facilities inspections; documents incidents and reports.
• Directs vehicular traffic and manages parking in accordance with policy.
• Maintains readiness by staying current with department policies, procedures and regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Wage Range: $27.57 - $42.16 per hour

Position covers multiple EvergreenHealth Locations (Kirkland - Monroe - Redmond) Monroe being the primary location for this position. Bonus: Up to $1,000 for those new to EvergreenHealth. Pro-rated by FTE.

Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.

The Security Officer position is very kinetic, affording officers the opportunity to be physically active in both indoor and outdoor activities.

Security Officers new to Healthcare Security will learn transferable skills in communication, team coordination and safety, making it an excellent choice for those considering careers in Law Enforcement, Corrections or Healthcare Security Management.

Job Summary:
Performs a variety of duties involving safety, security, emergency management, and related activities. Patrols buildings and grounds, monitors parking and traffic, responds to and investigates security incidents, and assists and interacts with patients, visitors and staff as appropriate.

Primary Duties

• Provides security for the hospital's patients, visitors, staff and employees, enforces rules against both employees and non-employees, protects hospital property and responds to requests for service and emergency codes.
• Conducts preventative security and safety patrols throughout buildings and grounds. Locks and unlocks doors following established procedures. Maintains alertness for unusual or abnormal conditions or suspicious activities. Observes unauthorized persons and notifies supervisor or police appropriately.
• Directs vehicular traffic as necessary, keeps emergency vehicle lanes clear at all times, enforces parking for patients, staff and visitors according to EvergreenHealth parking policies.
• Performs and participates in security, safety, and facilities inspections and incident investigations. Documents all questionable conditions, incidents and discrepancies and reports to management or the appropriate department for follow-up.
• Required to stay familiar and up to date with department communications, policies, procedures, guidelines, regulations and directives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

License, Certification, Education or Experience:

REQUIRED for the position:
High School graduate or equivalent
1-year security or related training/experience
Current Washington State Driver's license

DESIRED for the position:
1 year experience in Hospital Security, Police, Military Police, Correctional Officer or related field
