Job summary

Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati is seeking a Security Officer I to provide basic security coverage across the casino and hotel. The role emphasizes safeguarding assets, assisting patrons, and maintaining a friendly guest-focused demeanor.

Under supervision, you will patrol areas, handle incident reporting, and participate in emergency response while supporting responsible gaming practices. Previous casino security experience is preferred; English communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of guest service experience.
• Casino/Hotel security experience or related military/law enforcement background preferred.
• Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper security for all transfers of monies within casino and hotel areas.
• Assist patrons with inquiries, provide information about property/events, and offer directions; escort when necessary.
• Prepare detailed incident reports clearly and precisely.
• Patrol hotel and casino areas to establish security presence and report unusual or suspicious activity.
• Assist in coordinating and resolving emergency situations.
• Assist in maintaining proper key control.
• Promote responsible gaming and alcohol service; notify managers of concerns.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Security Officer I

Overview

Under the direction of Security Department supervisors and managers, incumbent provides basic security coverage ensuring that adequate protection is provided for the safety of patrons and team members. Safeguards the assets of the organization as well as those of its guests and team members. Promotes an outgoing, friendly guest-oriented demeanor at all times.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that proper security is provided for all transfers of monies within the casino and hotel areas of the complex.
• Assist patrons with a wide variety of inquiries and situations including providing information about the property and events, giving directions and possibly escorting them if necessary.
• Prepare detailed incident reports in a clear and precise manner.
• Patrol the hotel and casino areas to establish a security presence and report all unusual situations and/or suspicious persons.
• Assist in the coordination and resolution of emergency situations.
• Assist in maintaining proper key control.
• Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate managers of concerns and observations.
• Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required and a minimum of one (1) year of guest service experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous Casino/Hotel Security, Law Enforcement and/or Military experience preferred.
• Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours.
• The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy. May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to, secondhand smoke, excessive noise and constant exposure to general public.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
