Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer in Troy, NY. You will provide customer service, perform routine unarmed patrols of the retail location, and respond to incidents while maintaining a visible presence to deter security-related concerns.

You will document activities using a computer or tablet, report observations to site leadership, and uphold integrity, teamwork, and innovation in a collaborative environment. This is a part-time role with a predictable weekend schedule.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred (not required).
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Guard Card or license preferred.
• Be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, associates, and visitors by following security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location to deter incidents.
• Respond to incidents calmly and follow site procedures, notifying relevant personnel as needed.
• Monitor access points and observe activity, reporting suspicious behavior or policy violations.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations clearly and communicate to site leadership.

• Fri: 10:30 AM - 06:30 PM
• Sat: 10:30 AM - 06:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, associates, and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Monitor access points and observe activity within the location, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, or policy violations according to established procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortability using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
