Job summary

Harvard Protection Services in Philadelphia, PA seeks a Security Officer to provide professional, customer-focused security and life safety services at client facilities.

You will maintain a visible presence, monitor for suspicious activity, greet visitors, enforce policies, perform patrols, and document incidents. Requires a HS diploma and security guard license or ability to obtain one; position offers competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have a state or municipality security officer license.
• Minimum high school diploma, GED, or the equivalent.
• Must have or be able to obtain a security guard license within a defined period.
• Must have reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication and professional appearance.
• Experience in contract security, law enforcement, or military is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor and aid customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the facility / building assigned.
• Monitor the environment and detect suspicious and unsafe activity.
• Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, and guests in a professional manner.
• Answer all phones in a professional manner.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Enforce facility policies within the limits of the position.
• Perform required patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Observe departing personnel to protect company property and ensure proper removal of property.
• Follow emergency action plans and monitor alarms and systems.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
