Harvard Protection Services in Philadelphia is seeking a Security Guard to provide professional, customer-focused security and life safety services for people and property. You will maintain a visible security presence and respond to incidents according to established procedures.

Requirements include a valid security officer license where required, a high school diploma or GED, reliable communication and transportation, and a neat, professional appearance.

Qualifications

• State or municipality mandated security officer licenses.
• Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent.
• Must have a security guard license or be able to obtain one.
• Reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication and neat and professional appearance.
• Previous security, law enforcement, or customer service experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor when assisting customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible security presence in the assigned facility.
• Monitor the environment to detect suspicious or unsafe activity.
• Familiarize with incoming and outgoing traffic, customers, tenants, and guests.
• Greet people professionally.
• Answer phones professionally.
• Control entry and exit by permitting authorized persons.
• Enforce facility policies within the position limits.
• Perform patrols on foot or by vehicle.
• Observe departing personnel to protect company property.
• Follow emergency action plans and procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems.
• Prepare incident reports as directed.
