Job summary

Harvard Protection Services in Philadelphia is seeking a Security Officer to provide professional, customer-focused security and life safety services for people and property.

You will maintain a visible presence, monitor alarms, greet guests, and perform patrols on foot or by vehicle during a Wed-Sun, 10pm-6am shift; requires valid security license and High School diploma; equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Must have state or municipality mandated security officer licenses.
• Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent.
• Must have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
• Must have reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and neat and professional appearance.
• Write routine log entries and incident reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor, aiding customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the facility / building assigned.
• Monitor the environment and detect suspicious and unsafe activity.
• Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, guests professionally.
• Answer phones in a professional manner.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances/exits.
• Know and enforce facility policies within the position limits.
• Perform required patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Observe departing personnel to prevent theft and ensure proper removal of property.
• Follow emergency action plans and procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
