Job summary

Allied Universal in Lancaster, SC is seeking a Security Officer Customer Access to protect patients, visitors, and staff at a healthcare location. You will monitor entrances, perform patrols, and maintain a welcoming environment while delivering excellent customer service.

This full-time role requires 18 or older, a high school diploma, computer skills, and the ability to respond calmly to emergencies. Training and opportunities for career growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by law.
• Criminal history considered with applicable laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies in a calm, professional manner; notify appropriate hospital personnel.
• Conduct regular patrols of buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with wayfinding and restricted areas procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents and observations.

• Sat 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sun 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate hospital personnel and/or emergency services as directed by site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with wayfinding, and support site procedures for restricted areas, patient privacy, and controlled access.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and interactions in accordance with Allied Universal and site‑specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
