Job summary

Allied Universal in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a part-time Security Officer to verify credentials and monitor access at a technology site. You will perform site-specific security procedures, respond to incidents, and patrol entry points to deter unauthorized access.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

• Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying credentials and managing visitor entry.
• Respond to access-control alarms, unauthorized entry attempts, incidents, and critical situations calmly and professionally.
• Monitor access-control systems, cameras, and communications equipment and report irregularities as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points and restricted areas to deter unauthorized access and identify security concerns.

Job Description

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Sun: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, employees, and contractors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying credentials, managing visitor entry, issuing temporary access materials, and maintaining accurate access-related records.
• Respond to access-control alarms, unauthorized entry attempts, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Monitor access-control systems, cameras, and communications equipment; report irregularities, equipment concerns, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, restricted areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
