Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer for a college campus in Tustin, CA. You will provide unarmed protection, assist with access control, and maintain a safe campus environment for students, staff, and visitors.

The role features day shifts on a part-time basis with a pay rate of $22.50 per hour. Prior security or customer service experience is valued, and employees may undergo background checks and drug screening as required.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Guard Card or license preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities at an educational campus location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific policies, assisting with directions and general campus information as appropriate.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and designated site contacts.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
