Allied Universal in Harrisonburg, VA is hiring a Part-Time Security Officer – Patrol Driver to protect campus clients and surrounding facilities. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license and availability for DayTime Saturday and Sunday shifts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies with a calm, problem-solving approach and manage access concerns.
• Conduct regular patrols of buildings, parking, and perimeter to deter unwanted activity and identify issues.
• Monitor access points, verify IDs, and report suspicious activity through chain of command.
• Complete reports and logs and communicate information to supervisors or campus partners.

As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, support access control and ID badge activity, and assist students, staff, and visitors with clear communication and customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid drivers license. You will represent Allied Universal with integrity, teamwork, and a caring, people-first approach while staying agile, reliable, and innovative.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a campus setting.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with access concerns, disputes, medical calls, and fire or weather-related alerts per site guidelines.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking lots, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and policy issues.
• Monitor access points and campus activity, verify identification and/or authorization when required, and report suspicious behavior or policy violations through the established chain of command.
• Complete required reports and logs, document incidents and observations, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and/or campus partners as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be 21+ years of age.
• A guard card and/or guard license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
