Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time Perimeter Patrol) in Port Orange, FL. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, deter security incidents, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors while delivering exceptional customer service.

The role requires at least 2 years of security experience, CPR/First Aid preferred, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Schedule includes daytime shifts on weekends, with pay at $18.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction, campus event support, and adherence to property policies.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain communication with site contacts, Allied Universal leadership, and local emergency responders as appropriate.
