Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol in Orlando, FL, to serve and safeguard clients across various settings. This part-time role emphasizes visibility, access control, and rapid response to incidents, with shift blocks in the evenings and weekends.

You will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain strong communication with students, staff, and guests while delivering excellent customer service and teamwork within a dynamic security team.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following site-specific security procedures and access guidelines.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls and disturbances.
• Conduct regular foot patrols of buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter to deter activity and identify hazards.
• Monitor and report irregular conditions such as alarms and equipment issues, coordinating with campus personnel and responders.
• Complete detailed shift documentation and communicate updates through reporting channels.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures, access guidelines, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of academic buildings, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards, damage, and/or unsecured doors.
• Monitor and report irregular conditions such as alarms, door forced-open conditions, and/or equipment issues, and coordinate with campus personnel and/or local responders as directed.
• Complete detailed shift documentation including patrol observations, incident reports, and daily activity logs, and communicate pertinent updates through established reporting channels.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
