Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in Salinas, CA. You will support a food and beverage distribution site by managing access, assisting visitors, and delivering courteous customer service.

This role offers a fixed weekend schedule (Fri 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM and Sat 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) with a pay rate of $18.56 per hour, and opportunities to grow through Smart Tools and career development.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a food and beverage distribution location.
• Monitor and control access points by verifying credentials, recording visitor and contractor information, issuing badges or passes as authorized, and directing approved individuals to designated areas.
• Assist with managing vehicle and delivery access, including confirming scheduled arrivals, maintaining entry logs, and communicating access concerns to site contacts.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, employee entrances, and the business perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
