Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Care Unit in Ventura, CA. This part-time position focuses on safeguarding patients, visitors, and staff within a healthcare environment, delivering exceptional service while adhering to policies and procedures.

You will perform unarmed patrols, respond to incidents, and help maintain a welcoming environment across hospital facilities and surrounding areas. Training and performance growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Willing to receive required hospital vaccines.
• Able to work in and around a hospital morgue.
• Able to restrain individuals when necessary.
• Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents, patient or visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate hospital personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout hospital buildings, parking areas, entrances, and the surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity within assigned areas, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Prepare clear and accurate incident reports and maintain professional communication with healthcare personnel, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership.

What You’ll Do
