Job summary

Allied Universal in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Security Officer Patrol Route Driver to serve campus clients by performing unarmed patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and providing courteous service to students and staff. This full-time driving post requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to respond to alarms or emergencies.

• Six months of security-related experience.

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures and access-control practices.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner following campus protocols.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of campus facilities, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points and report unauthorized access and hazards to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear incident reports and maintain professional communication with campus personnel and responders.

Pay Rate: $15.00 / Hour

Job Schedule: DayTime Wed 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM Thur 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM Fri 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM Sat 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM Sun 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to help identify and report security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and report unauthorized access, suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear and accurate incident reports and maintain professional communication with campus personnel and emergency responders.

Minimum Requirements

• At least six months of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
