Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer to patrol a Wilmington, NC campus, providing frontline customer service and safety. The role requires routine site patrols, monitoring access, and immediate response to incidents.

You will help maintain a secure campus environment while following established policies and reporting procedures. Qualifications include at least 6 months in security, a high school diploma, and a valid driver's license for driving assignments.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check and drug screening will be conducted as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while following site procedures and emergency plans.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points and direct visitors in accordance with campus procedures and access requirements.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events calmly and document actions taken.
• Prepare clear incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity records as required by Allied Universal and site policies.

Pay Rate: $15.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Tue 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Wed 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Thur 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Fri 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or potential security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with directing visitors in accordance with campus procedures and authorized access requirements.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
• Prepare clear and accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity records in accordance with Allied Universal and site‑specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
