Allied Universal in Saint Louis, MO is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time, Unarmed) to protect campus facilities and support a welcoming educational environment. You will perform routine patrols, respond to incidents, and assist with access control, while delivering professional service to students, staff and visitors.

This role offers a flexible schedule and a pay rate of $17.50 per hour, with opportunities for advancement within a national security leader.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check per federal/state/local laws.
• Drug screen required as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and campus policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor for unusual activity, access concerns, hazards, and policy violations and report observations.
• Assist with access control, directions, escorts, and other security-related services.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, outdoor walkways, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Monitor for unusual activity, access concerns, hazards, and policy violations, and report observations to appropriate personnel in accordance with site procedures.
• Assist with access control, directions, escorts, and other security‑related services that support a welcoming educational environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 6 months of security‑related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
