Job summary

Allied Universal offers a Security Officer X Ray Baggage Examiner position in Indianapolis, IN. The role is full-time with a shift pattern of 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, Monday through Friday, at a rate of $17.22 per hour.

The job focuses on customer service, screening, and incident response at a logistics and distribution site. Responsibilities include monitoring entry points, screening personnel and belongings, and adhering to safety and emergency procedures.

Qualifications

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check will be conducted as required by law.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies at a logistics and distribution location.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, packages, and/or property in accordance with established access-control and screening procedures.
• Monitor entry points, screening equipment, and restricted areas; report irregularities, prohibited items, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific emergency response procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, loading zones, facility interiors, and the perimeter; document observations and complete required reports.

Minimum Requirements

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
