Job summary

Allied Universal in Cambridge, MA is looking for a Security Officer Badge Support Patrol. This full-time, unarmed position serves tenants and visitors, conducts routine patrols, monitors access points, and maintains a visible presence to deter incidents.

You will provide excellent customer service, document activities clearly, and collaborate with site leadership. A high school diploma, 18+ age, and background check are required, with licensing as applicable.

Qualifications

• Access control/badge experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation will be conducted as required by law.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories as allowed by law.
• Drug screen required as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response when needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout office buildings, common areas, parking facilities, and surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, maintain visitor and contractor records, and report access concerns per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmy and professionally, contacting appropriate personnel and emergency services as needed.
• Prepare clear activity reports and communicate observations and maintenance concerns to leadership and site contacts.

As an Unarmed Security Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support access control activities. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control practices, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout commercial office buildings, common areas, parking facilities, and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials as required, maintain visitor and contractor records, and report access concerns in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and emergency services when needed.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity reports and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
