Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Security Officer in West Des Moines, IA. You will patrol, deter incidents, respond to alarms, and provide a welcoming, safe environment for clients at a financial institution location.

The role requires an armed security background, a valid concealed carry permit, and compliance with licensing and background checks. Training and growth opportunities are available as part of Allied Universal's culture of integrity.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid Concealed Carry Weapons permit.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a financial services location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the building, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and report unusual conditions or policy violations.
• Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid concealed carry weapons permit.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
