Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Armed Permit Holder Patrol in Birmingham, AL to protect clients across healthcare and other settings. You will perform routine patrols, monitor access points, respond to incidents, and provide courteous service to patients, visitors, and staff.

Requires a valid concealed carry permit, high school diploma, and ability to pass background checks and drug screening. Full-time, day-evening shifts with competitive pay.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by following security procedures and site policies.

• Conduct armed patrols of buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and aid in access control while reporting suspicious behavior or policy violations.
• Complete incident reports and logs accurately per site procedures.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Permit Holder Patrol in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a healthcare setting, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and provide professional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff. You will communicate clearly, respond to security-related concerns, and contribute to a caring environment through teamwork, integrity, reliability, and innovation with Allied Universal.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, critical situations, medical emergencies, and/or disturbances in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site personnel and public emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facility buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with access control procedures, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Complete required incident reports, daily activity logs, and other documentation accurately and in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a valid concealed carry weapons permit.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
