Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, invites you to join as an Armed Patrol Officer in Los Angeles, CA. You will conduct armed patrols, monitor access, and respond to incidents at a government location while delivering professional customer service.

This full-time role offers a pay rate of $26.81 per hour, a background check, and driving record requirements. Candidates should have at least one year of security experience and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background checks as per laws.
• Drug screening as permitted by law.
• Participation in industry-specific security training.
• Licensing requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and the public by carrying out security procedures and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, and control entry/exit per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally; notify appropriate personnel and document activities.
• Maintain a professional presence and report suspicious activity or maintenance concerns to site contacts or leadership.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential hazards or unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials as required, and control entry and exit in accordance with applicable site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
• Maintain a professional presence while observing and reporting suspicious activity, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
