Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Armed Patrol Operations in Norristown, PA to safeguard clients across technology and telecommunications environments. You’ll conduct armed patrols, monitor access, and respond to incidents while delivering professional customer service.

This full-time role pays $24.00 per hour and requires at least one year of security experience, PA Act 235 qualification, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Act 235 qualification in Pennsylvania.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as required by law; drug screening may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology and communications infrastructure location by carrying out site-specific security procedures.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of facilities, access points, parking areas, and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access control systems, alarms, cameras, and equipment; report issues and violations as required.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, medical events, coordinating with site personnel and emergency responders.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain documentation for patrol activities and security events.

As an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide exceptional customer service. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology and communications infrastructure location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.


• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.


• Monitor access control systems, alarms, cameras, and communications equipment; report unusual activity, equipment issues, and policy violations according to site procedures.


• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical events, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site personnel and emergency responders as needed.


• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation for patrol activities, incidents, access control events, and other security-related observations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least one year of security-related experience.


• Be at least 21 years of age.


• Possess Act 235 qualification in Pennsylvania.


• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.


• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.


• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
