• Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Background investigation required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and staff while carrying out security procedures and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and with problem solving.
• Conduct regular armed patrols across retail floors, entry/exit points, parking, and surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Driver Specialist in Houston, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Job Schedule:

DayTimeTue04:00 PM - 10:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.


• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and store team members while carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.


• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, including situations involving suspected theft, trespassing, or disruptive behavior.


• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout retail sales floors, entry and exit points, parking areas, loading areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.


• Monitor access to restricted areas and support the enforcement of site policies, documenting observations, incidents, and actions taken according to established procedures.


• Maintain required firearms qualifications and follow applicable laws, Allied Universal policies, and site‑specific protocols while performing armed duties.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or 5 or more years of armed security‑related experience.


• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.


• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.


• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
