• 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• Armed guard card or license required.
• Valid driver’s license required per Allied Universal policy.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public by carrying out security procedures and emergency response activities at government locations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and follow protocols.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of assigned facilities to deter unauthorized activity and identify concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization, document visitors and incidents.
• Maintain proficiency with equipment and adhere to laws, policies, and site post orders.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Driver Patrol Response in Houston, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.84 / Hour

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.


• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at government locations.


• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.


• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned facilities, public areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.


• Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry as directed by site‑specific procedures, documenting visitors, incidents, and unusual activity in required reports.


• Maintain proficiency with assigned equipment and perform duties in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, Allied Universal policies, and site‑specific post orders.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required.


• At least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience is required.


• An armed guard card or license is required.


• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.


• Customer service experience is preferred.


• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
