Job summary

Allied Universal, Norcross, GA, seeks a Security Officer Armed Patrol Driver to patrol and secure government and other sites. You will provide excellent customer service to visitors and staff while performing armed patrols and access control.

This full-time role includes a demanding schedule and driving responsibilities, with a focus on safety and professionalism. Qualifications include a valid GA driver’s license, 3+ years of related security experience or a college degree, and completion of

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required in the state of Georgia.
• 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, or security experience, or a college degree.
• Graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
• 1+ years of armed security/military experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Licensing requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors and staff by carrying out security-related procedures and policies.
• Conduct armed patrols of public areas, offices, parking areas and facility perimeter.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents calmly and document observations per site policy.

Pay Rate: $20.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue 07:30 AM - 07:00 PM
• Wed 07:30 AM - 07:00 PM
• Thur 07:30 AM - 07:00 PM
• Fri 07:30 AM - 07:00 PM
• Sat 07:30 AM - 12:30 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors and staff by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of public-facing service areas, offices, parking areas, and the facility perimeter, with working conditions varying by location.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, following site procedures for entry, restricted areas, and credential verification.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; document and report observations and incidents according to site policy.
• Help to deter unauthorized activity by maintaining a professional presence, observing conditions, and communicating concerns to appropriate personnel and/or responding agencies.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security‑related experience, or a college degree.
• Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
• Possess 1 or more years of armed security‑related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
