Job summary

Allied Universal® in Homestead, FL is seeking an Armed Security Officer to patrol transit facilities, deter incidents, and provide professional customer service to passengers and staff. You will conduct armed patrols, respond to alarms, and maintain security protocols in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 3+ years of law enforcement, military, or security experience (or a college degree), an Armed Guard Card, and a minimum age of 21.

Qualifications

• 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
• Armed Guard Card or license.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required.
• Drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at transit facilities and surrounding areas.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit stations, platforms, parking areas, vehicles, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally.
• Monitor access points and public areas, report suspicious activity and maintenance concerns, and prepare incident reports.
• Maintain armed-post qualifications and handle issued equipment according to policy and law.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at transit facilities and surrounding areas.

• Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and applicable laws.
• Monitor access points and public areas, report suspicious activity and maintenance concerns, and prepare accurate incident reports and documentation.
• Maintain required armed-post qualifications and handle issued equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, client procedures, and legal requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
• Possess an Armed Guard Card or license.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
