Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part-Time Armed Security Officer in Austin, TX. You will patrol retail locations, deter theft, and respond to incidents with professionalism while delivering excellent customer service.

This role requires a Level III Armed Certification in Texas, a high school diploma, and 3+ years in law enforcement/corrections/military or 5+ years armed security.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or at least 5 years armed security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age; armed roles require 21+.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Background check will be conducted in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Participation in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and disturbances in a calm, professional manner, contacting law enforcement, fire, or medical personnel when needed.
• Conduct regular armed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas and parking zones.
• Monitor access points and deter theft and unauthorized activity in line with site procedures.
• Prepare clear incident reports and communicate observations to site leadership and supervision.

Pay Rate: $26.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue 02:45 PM - 11:30 PM


• Wed 02:45 PM - 11:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.


• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, including contacting law enforcement, fire, or medical personnel when needed.


• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, parking areas, loading zones, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations.


• Monitor access points, observe for suspicious activity, and help to deter theft, trespassing, and other unauthorized activity in accordance with site procedures and applicable laws.


• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and communicate observations, concerns, and relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or at least 5 years of armed security-related experience.


• Be at least 21 years of age.


• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.


• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
