Job summary

Allied Universal in Lutz, FL is seeking an Armed Security Officer for hospital patrol duties. You will provide customer service to patients, visitors and staff while patrolling assigned areas, respond to emergencies, and maintain safety with licensed armed security credentials.

Your schedule is Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a pay rate of $17.75 per hour. A high school diploma and an armed guard card are preferred qualifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year in security-related work.
• Armed guard card or license preferred; valid driver’s license for driving positions.
• Be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors following site procedures.
• Conduct regular armed patrols in healthcare facilities, parking areas, and perimeters.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and emergencies with calm professionalism; request help as needed.
• Carry and maintain authorized equipment per policy and law; document incidents accurately.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while following site-specific procedures, healthcare facility policies, and emergency response protocols.


• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout healthcare facilities, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.


• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical-related emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, requesting additional assistance as needed.


• Carry and maintain authorized equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, applicable laws, licensing requirements, and site procedures.


• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.


• An armed guard card or license is preferred.


• A guard card or license is preferred.


• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
