Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and public agency personnel by carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally, notifying appropriate personnel or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct armed patrols of assigned areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials, and document visitor activity and patrol observations.
• Maintain proficiency with assigned equipment and comply with laws, licensing requirements, post orders, and policies.

As a Security Officer Armed Enhanced Transit in West Palm Beach, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.85 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat06:00 AM - 02:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and public agency personnel by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or public emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of government buildings, parking areas, access points, and surrounding perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and document visitor activity, incidents, and patrol observations in accordance with site procedures.
• Maintain proficiency with assigned equipment and follow applicable laws, licensing requirements, post orders, and Allied Universal policies for armed posts.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security‑related experience or a college degree in criminal justice
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
