Job summary

Allied Universal® in Washington, DC is seeking a Security Officer Armed Driver Patrol for a part‑time enhanced schedule. This flexible role offers reliable hours at an assigned site with opportunities to pick up extra shifts and increase earnings.

Pay rate is $35.00 per hour. Minimum requirements include 3+ years of security or related experience or a college degree, armed guard card, valid driver’s license, and a background check. The role supports up to 40 hours weekly when desired.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
• Armed guard card or license.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a financial institution location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including business spaces, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations, helping to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, screen visitors as required, and maintain accurate visitor and incident documentation.
• Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and coordinate with emergency responders when needed.
• Carry authorized equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, Allied Universal policies, and site-specific procedures.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”):
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.
