Job summary

Allied Universal in Washington, DC is seeking a Security Officer – Armed Driver Patrol for part-time hours at a financial institution site. The role offers reliable shifts with fixed anchor hours and opportunities to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

Pay rate is $35 per hour with weekend night scheduling (Sat 09:00 PM – 09:00 AM). The position emphasizes customer service, security procedures, and calm response to incidents, with potential to grow into a full-time

Qualifications

• Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a financial institution location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including business spaces, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations, helping to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, screen visitors as required, and maintain accurate visitor and incident documentation.
• Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and coordinate with emergency responders when needed.
• Carry authorized equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, Allied Universal policies, and site‑specific procedures.

Sat 09:00 PM - 09:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.


• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
