Allied Universal in Houston, TX is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Badge Issuance to join our team. This role offers flexible hours, a stable base schedule, and the opportunity to earn more through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program.

You will protect visitors and staff at a government location, manage access, respond to incidents, and uphold site procedures. A valid armed guard license and prior security experience are required.

Qualifications

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Badge Issuance in Houston, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.84 / Hour

DayTimeMon06:00 PM - 06:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors at a government location by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor and control access points, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate visitor and access‑related records.
• Respond to access‑control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Communicate clearly with site personnel, visitors, and emergency responders regarding access requirements, restricted areas, and security‑related concerns.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated access points, public areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security‑related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security‑related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Possess a college degree.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
