Job summary

Allied Universal in Aurora, IL seeks a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Perimeter Patrol. This role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the option to earn more by picking up additional shifts when available.

Pay rate is $24.00 per hour. The schedule includes Daytime and Overnight shifts with a fixed anchor schedule and a program to claim extra shifts via our platform.

Qualifications

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background checks and drug screening may apply.
• Licensing requirements may be required.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations following escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of the facility and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization; maintain incident logs.
• Communicate observations promptly to site leadership and emergency responders.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Perimeter Patrol in Aurora, IL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $24.00 / Hour

Job Schedule: DayTimeMon11:00 PM - 07:00 AMSat11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related protocols.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and emergency response procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, grounds, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed by site procedures, and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation.
• Communicate observations and incidents promptly to site leadership, Allied Universal supervision, and/or emergency responders as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
