Job summary

Allied Universal in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking a Security Officer Airport Access Control to protect travelers and airport personnel, monitor access points, and deter incidents. You will perform routine patrols and respond to incidents per procedures and regulations.

This full-time swing-shift role pays $22.00 per hour. A minimum of 2 years security experience and a high school diploma are required; background checks and a drug screen are part of employment.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• A background check will be conducted.
• A drug screen is required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to travelers and airport personnel while following site procedures and regulations.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of airport facilities, access points, and parking areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for unusual conditions or hazards and report observations according to established procedures.
• Respond to incidents and alarms calmly, coordinating with airport personnel and public agencies as needed.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and required documentation.

As an Unarmed Patrol Professional at a government transportation location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, monitor access points, and support visitors with professional communication. Position Type: Full Time / Swing Shift

Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 03:00 PM - 11:30 PM
• Thur: 03:00 PM - 11:30 PM
• Fri: 03:00 PM - 11:30 PM
• Sat: 03:00 PM - 11:30 PM
• Sun: 03:00 PM - 11:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, and/or airport personnel while carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned airport facilities, public areas, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for unusual conditions, unauthorized access, and/or potential hazards; report observations and incidents according to established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with appropriate airport personnel and public agencies as needed.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and required documentation while following applicable government and airport regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
