Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer in Columbus, IN, to patrol and protect a manufacturing/industrial site. You will maintain a visible presence, respond to incidents, and provide courteous service to employees and visitors.

This part-time role offers flexible afternoon shifts and opportunities to grow within a national security team. A valid CPR certification and a high school diploma are preferred, along with a background check and drug screening as required by law.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and drivers at a manufacturing and industrial location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of manufacturing areas, warehouses, parking areas, access points, and the facility perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, following visitor and contractor entry procedures, and maintaining required logs and documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders according to established procedures.
• Document patrol observations, incidents, and security-related concerns in accurate reports and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
